With over two decades of progressive experience as a pharmacy technician, Amber Walker is a forward-thinking leader who champions initiatives that advance patient care and access to medications. Amber is the founder of Rx Navigator Solutions, a healthcare service dedicated to helping patients, pharmacies, clinics, and pharmaceutical manufacturers navigate the complexities of drug reimbursement and medication access. Through her work, she provides tailored support to healthcare providers and advocates for equitable access to medications across Canada. Throughout her career, Amber has contributed educational content for esteemed institutions such as the University of Toronto and Ontario Health and has participated in professional standard-setting initiatives with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Her expertise has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians and other national organizations. Prior to founding Rx Navigator Solutions, Amber served as a Drug Access Facilitator at the Juravinski Cancer Centre within Hamilton Health Sciences, where she developed deep expertise in supporting patient access to essential and often complex therapies within the oncology setting. Committed to advancing the pharmacy profession, Amber is also the founder of the annual Pharmacy Technician Professional Development Conference, creating a platform where pharmacy technicians can learn, connect, and lead. Passionate, resourceful, and resolute, Amber is dedicated to driving healthcare advancement, patient advocacy, and professional excellence. Never satisfied with the status quo, she continues to develop innovative ideas that inspire and empower professional communities.
Drug Acess Facilitator @ Hamilton Health Sciences
Stephanie O’Marra undertakes the individual role as the Drug Access Facilitator for the Hamilton MS Clinic at the Hamilton General Hospital. Implementing this role in 2020 has been a great accomplishment for patient care. Stephanie has been a Pharmacy Technician for 25 years. When the opportunity for the role to become registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacist in 2010, she graduated as one of the first. When she initially started as a pharmacy technician it was in the retail setting. It was then that she discovered how much she enjoyed working first hand with patients. Throughout the years completing additional training in order to help her patients to the best of her ability. Training patients on Blood Glucose Monitors, Certified Fitter for compression stocking and most recently to help with the Covid vaccine administration, Injection and Immunization Certified. Stephanie has always had a passion for educating other Pharmacy Technicians. She completed the preceptor course for Pharmacy Technicians and was able to mentor students through their structured practical training to become registered pharmacy technicians. Now Stephanie volunteers her time on the committee of the Pharmacy Technician Professional Development Conference to further the education of fellow pharmacy Technicians.

With over three decades of dedicated service in community pharmacy, Catherine Carter is a respected and trusted Pharmacy Technician at Orchard View Pharmacy in Grimsby, where she has cared for patients and supported her team for 33 years. As the Senior Pharmacy Technician, Catherine plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring patients receive knowledgeable, compassionate, and reliable care. Throughout her career, Catherine has built lasting relationships with patients and colleagues alike, becoming a familiar and reassuring presence within the community. Her deep understanding of pharmacy practice, attention to detail, and commitment to patient well-being have made her an invaluable part of the Orchard View Pharmacy team. Beyond the pharmacy, Catherine is also a successful small business owner. Through her venture, From My Kitchen, she creates homemade jams and baked goods that she proudly shares at local craft shows and markets. What began as a passion has grown into a thriving business, reflecting Catherine’s creativity, dedication, and love for bringing people together through food. Catherine is also a member of the Ontario Region Model T Club, enjoying the history, craftsmanship, and camaraderie that comes with sharing this unique interest with fellow enthusiasts. A proud mother of two sons, Catherine balances her professional life, entrepreneurial pursuits, and family with warmth and grace. Her longstanding commitment to both her patients and her community makes her a true example of the heart of community pharmacy.
